Hi: This is just something I ask people as a fun icebreaker. Question: Would you rather be bored or boring? My answer is that I would rather be boring, don't like being bored, smile. I figure if people find me boring, they can hang up the phone, walk away from me, whatever.

I do hate being bored too, but I think I would hate being considered boring by others even more. And I'm sure some people do find me boring, but luckily there are a lot of people who don't.

I hate being considered boring to other people. Just because I'm a laid back person and like to take it easy all the time doesn't mean I'm boring. I had a friend awhile back tell me straight up that I was boring and that I never wanted to go anyshwere, but I couldn't because of the financial problems ya know. That did hurt me a bit. I don't have to be anywhere to have a good time. I just need to find the right people to hang out with in order for that to work.

On the other hand I don't neccesarly like to be bored out of my mind either.

Well, I'd rather be bored. The way I see it a boring person is always bored so that just wouldn't do at all.

I think I'd rather be boring, because wouldn't it depend on what you're doing or your interests that would make a person think you're boring? *smile* So even if I'm considered boring by others, I might still be doing think I don't consider boring. *smile*

Being borinig? I never want to be that. This may have consequences like having no friends and stuff like that. I so I am rather bored from time to time.

since I don't really care what people think of me anyway, and bordom is not safe in my hands, I'd rather be boring

I'd rather be bored, since there's always a cure for boredom. No cure for being boring though.

Most people initially tell me they'd rather be bored because they don't want to bore anyone. Still, to me it's likely that just because some may find me boring, others won't, so if I'm considered boring, this too shall pass. I so hate being bored. I appreciate all the responses, thanks.

Somewhere, somebody in the world would think I am boring. No big deal, and I will never apologize for being boring either like so many people seem to do. If people think I'm boring that's their own thing.

When you think about it, everyone is considered boring by someone, somewhere. We tend to think people are interesting who have many of the same interests as ourselves. I find people boring if they talk about things that I have no interest in. That doesn't make them boring people overall, it just means we don't have any interests in common. So by the same token, I know I shouldn't be offended if someone finds me boring. It just means whoever thinks that of me has a whole different set of interests.

I'm with Erin on that one. There's a cure for boredom. But not one for being boring. So yeah, that's a good reason
